This tune comes from Owen ‘Snake’ Chapman (Pike Co. Kentucky) and is his interpretation of Bob Will's song, “Go Home With the Girls in the Morning.” He almost always played it in standard tuning but in the late '80s / early '90s, Bob Butler convinced him to try it in ADAD for a cassette he produced. Later, on his Walnut Gap recording, Snake recorded it as Half Irish and played it in standard tuning.
Great choice of music, expertly played and sung. Nicely produced. I hope to see The Onlies live, asap. This is an album I listen to over and over. Karamogo
This rendition of Virgil Anderson's "Jenny Hang the Kettle On" is wonderful. It perfectly grabs the simplistic beauty of Virgil's version, but has such clarity. Amazing album! Payton Scott
